For years, much of what made Uluniu Street worth a stop ran on a breakfast clock. Cinnamon's Restaurant at 315 Uluniu opens at 7 a.m. and closes at 2 p.m. every day. Three changes in 2026 gave the block new hours on either side of that window. Now a person could eat breakfast, lunch, an afternoon snack and dinner within a few addresses of each other and never move the car.
The new arrivals are a dessert counter, a coffee bar and a relocated dinner restaurant. Each one fills a different gap in the day. The Sunday market down the street is the only regular fixture with a schedule change coming, and that change lands in late November.
The 300 block opens early. Cinnamon's SweetShop opened in early June 2026 next door to Cinnamon's Restaurant, sharing the 315 Uluniu address in Kailua Square. Aloha State Daily reported that the SweetShop keeps daily hours of 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., the same as the restaurant.
Honolulu Magazine's look at the opening lists black-sesame soft-serve, an Elvis Pudding parfait, rotating specialty coffee and cream-soda drinks, and a boba drink called Tokyo Dream. Its standout is a guava pani popo. Owner Alika Nam takes the guava glaze from Cinnamon's pancakes and puts it on Samoan coconut rolls. In that same article, he says pani popo deserves a place in more people's lives. The cookie case uses recipes from his mother, Cricket Nam, including macadamia chocolate-chip and Ginger Crack cookies. The magazine also reported that he plans soft-serve flavors such as kalo, haupia and salted strawberry balsamic.
A few doors down at 333 Uluniu, Mānoa Chocolate's Kailua shop now has a coffee bar and small-batch roaster. It's open daily from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. The company already had deep roots on this street. Honolulu Magazine reported that founder Dylan Butterbaugh started making chocolate at home in 2010 and opened the Kailua store and factory two years later. The business now also has a larger factory on Kapaʻa Quarry Road, a farm in Waialua and a retail shop in Waikīkī.
The coffee bar is a natural next step for a bean-to-bar company. In the same article, Butterbaugh describes how much artisan coffee and craft chocolate share: farming ethics, supply chains, single-origin sourcing, roasting and flavor. The menu reflects that. Here's what the July 2026 article listed:
The roaster also sells beans from local farms and other growing regions, including house blends named Kailua Sunrise and Island Time. Mānoa stays open two hours after Cinnamon's closes, so that coffee bar is what keeps the 300 block going into the afternoon.
Early afternoon is when the block's hours overlap most. Cinnamon's and the SweetShop close at 2 p.m. Mānoa runs until 4 p.m. Up the street at 407 Uluniu, Perfect Day Real Fruit Ice Cream opens at noon on weekdays and 11 a.m. on weekends, then stays open until 8 p.m. every day, according to the shop's locations page.
Perfect Day opened its Kailua storefront on August 1, 2025, inside The Collective, the tattoo studio and gallery at 407 Uluniu St. #101. Honolulu Magazine's October 2025 feature described fruit-swirl soft serve along with coffee, matcha and Big Time Bagels. The block now has two soft-serve counters. The SweetShop covers the morning, and Perfect Day covers the afternoon and evening.
Savory lunch is available too. Ganesh Dosa, also at 315 Uluniu, appeared in Honolulu Magazine's July 2026 list of food spots outside Honolulu worth the drive. It specializes in South Indian dosas, from masala potato to a version filled with goat cheese, avocado and olive. At the far end of the block, Himalayan Kitchen serves lunch starting at 11 a.m., and its lunch specials are the reason for the next section.
Until this year, the block had little to offer at dinnertime. Himalayan Kitchen fixed that by moving. Aloha State Daily reported in August 2026 that the restaurant left 600 Kailua Road for the former Tokoname Sushi Bar & Restaurant space at 442 Uluniu St. At the time of that story, it had been open at the new address for about two months.
The move is about more than an address. Chef and owner Suman Basnet told Aloha State Daily that the restaurant has been in Kailua for about six years. The new space has a bigger kitchen, so the menu has grown beyond what the old Kailua Road location could handle. Everything is made to order. He described the food as "Indian-style cooking and Nepali-style cooking blended together." The same report listed hours of 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 to 9 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday.
Back at 315 Uluniu, Bottleheads also runs late. Its website lists the bottle shop and tasting room as open Monday through Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Between Bottleheads and Himalayan Kitchen, the street's two ends now both stay open until 9 p.m. on most nights.
Here is the full day, using the hours each business or its most recent coverage has published. Hours change, so check before you go, especially on Mondays, when Himalayan Kitchen is closed.

On Sundays, the block's biggest draw is Lōkahi Kailua Market, held every Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 340 Uluniu Street, its normal venue. The market's location page says it works with 110-plus vendors over a year and has 60-plus on site each week, with food, artisans and crafters, farmed goods, live music and keiki activities. It welcomes families and pets, and street parking is free on Sundays.
That 340 Uluniu address is about to change for a month. The market lists four relocation dates at the end of 2026:
On those Sundays, the market moves to its relocation venues at 419 Uluniu Street and 25 Maluniu Avenue. The market notes that relocation dates can change, and it posts updates through its newsletter and on Instagram at @lokahi_kailua_market. It's a good idea to check that feed before heading out on any Sunday from Thanksgiving weekend through the week before Christmas.
The Sunday before the move has its own event. The Collective, Perfect Day's host at 407 Uluniu, is holding its next Children's Business Fair on November 22, 2026, in partnership with Lōkahi Kailua Market. The fair's listing places it from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 340 Uluniu, inside the market. The Collective calls its spring fair its eighth and its biggest so far. Young entrepreneurs set up among 50 adult vendors, and The Collective counted 9 of the 13 youth businesses as first-time marketers. If you'd like to pick up a few stocking stuffers from young business owners, that's the Sunday to go.
